Emma Carew, student representative
Emma Carew is a sophomore
at the University of Minnesota. She
is studying print journalism and minoring in art history and Korean studies.
Emma
is also involved with the Campus Band and volunteers in Eden Prairie teaching sixth-grade
band and flute lessons. She is also one of the founding members of the Korean Adoptee
Student Organization at the U.
She
got started in journalism after attending the Urban Journalism Workshop in 2002
(now called ThreeSixty) and is a Star Tribune Scholar. She has worked for the Minnesota
Daily, the Associated Press, the Star Tribune and Minnesota Monthly magazine.
Emma
likes drinking coffee, reading mystery/crime novels, watching “House,” “Law and
Order: SVU” and “Entourage,” cooking and traveling. Her favorite things are blank notebooks, sale-priced shoes, anything
pink, New York City, photographs and panda bears.
