Mary Tan, vice president
Mary
Tan currently serves as vice president of the Minnesota chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association.
When she is not leading the chapter in activities
ranging from scholarship fundraisers to educational events, she is a general assignment reporter at WCCO-TV.
Mary has been
a broadcast journalist for the past 10 years, and has worked in Atlanta and Las
Vegas.
She has a strong commitment
to diversity in the newsroom and is an activist in ensuring fair and balanced coverage
of Asian Americans in the media.
She is a past AAJA
national board member and a former secretary of the Atlanta chapter of AAJA. During her time as a national board representative
she was a member of the "MediaWatch" and broadcast committees.
Mary lives in Minneapolis
with her three cats and dog.
