1/10/04 Call for Nominations
Take a Seat on the Board! We have one vacant, two-year board seat on our chapter board. Board member duties include: * Voting on finance, sponsorship and other issues facing the chapter; * Heading up a committee and/or organizing activities for the chapter; * Contributing to the chapter newsletter and planning out other regular chapter activities. Qualifications: All candidates must current, dues-paying, Full or Gold Full members of the New York chapter. Officers must pay their 2004 dues before assuming office. While associate, student and retired members are not eligible for board positions, they are eligible -- and encouraged -- to lead or join chapter committees. Nomination process: You are encouraged to nominate yourself; if you would like to nominate someone else, you should do so with his or her consent. Candidates should provide their name, affiliation, and a brief candidate statement (typically 2-5 paragraphs describing yourself and the goals you'd like to set for the chapter). Election process: For this special vacancy, the 2004 board will appoint
someone from the list of candidates at the Jan. 10 board meeting.
Candidates are encouraged to attend the meeting to answer any questions.
