About Lisa Ling:
Lisa Ling is the host of National Geographic Channel's Ultimate Explorer and one of the show's featured correspondents. Formerly co-host of ABC's popular morning talk-show The View, Ling's job now includes hunting down cocaine processing labs in the Colombian jungle, going head-to-head with narcotic-trafficking guerrillas and venturing into active war zones. Ling has been working in television for 12 years. She began her career at age 16, as one of the four hosts of Scratch, a nationally syndicated teen magazine show out of Sacramento. She also worked for Channel One News, where she became the network's senior war correspondent. All told, she reported from more than two dozen countries, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Colombia, Algeria, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Japan, India and Iran, and produced eight documentaries for PBS, several of which won awards.

She is also a contributing editor for USA Weekend, researching and writing exclusive stories on a range of topics. Ling also hosted the television special Teen People's 20 Teens Who Will Change The World in February 2001.
