Looking for Leaders
It's election season -- for AAJA-NY

The AAJA-NY board wants you to help lead the organization! We're looking for members who are interested in leading the chapter in events, networking with other groups and projects that help further coverage of Asian American communities and support Asian Americans in journalism. Only qualification is that you must be a full member of the New York chapter (sorry, student members and associate members aren't eligible for these seats). We're particularly looking for members from a diverse group of news organizations, so if you haven't been active before but are interested now in getting involved, then we encourage you to run.

Open board seats are: Vice President-Broadcast; Secretary and three (3) Chapter Board seats.

All positions are for two-year terms starting Jan. 1.

To run: Submit your name, job title & affiliation and a candidate statement (3-5 paragraphs should suffice) to the election chair & chapter president, P.J. Joshi by the deadline. Submit via e-mail to pjoshi@newsday.com (and type 'AAJA board' in subject line) or send via fax to 212-696-0396.

Deadline for nominations: Tuesday, Nov. 5 by 9 p.m. Eastern time
Ballots will go out the week of Nov. 8 and will be due back Dec. 3
Questions?: e-mail pjoshi@newsday.com
