Save the Date - Become Karaoke Champs of the Year!

Date : Thursday, Dec. 16
Time : Starting at 8 p.m.
Location : Village Ma, 107 Macdougal St. (between W. 3rd and Bleecker Sts.)
Price : Soloist/duets, $50. Teams of 3-4, $100. Those who just want to enjoy the performances, tickets are $20 for AAJA members, $25 for nonmembers.

You've cringed whenever he opens his mouth. You've probably even mocked him. But do you think you can sing better than William Hung?

Then come to the first annual Asian American Idol -- at the New York chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association dare you.

Teams will compete for the right to proclaim themselves Asian American Idol of the year. A panel of three judges - including Newsday's music critic Glenn Gamboa and local musician J. Cabrera - will rate the performances.

So round up friends, colleagues, and get practicing! To register your team, email aajanyc@hotmail.com and write "karaoke team."

Light dinner is included. Cash bar.Most of the proceeds will go to the High School Scholarship Fund.
