Out With the Old, In With the New

We'd like to thank the following 2005 officers who will be stepping down as of Dec. 31:

• Lan Nguyen, freelance writer, stepping down as treasurer
• Jennifer Sinco Kelleher, reporter at Newsday, stepping down as a local board member
• Kim-Van Dang, founder of KVD NYC Inc., stepping down as local board member and
• Michael Hale, an Arts & Culture editor at the New York Times, who is stepping down as National Board Representative

Please welcome the new 2006 officers for AAJA-NY chapter!

• President: Cindy del Rosario Tapan, managing editor, Martha Stewart Living Radio [new to post]
• Vice President - Print: Tony Ramirez, reporter, The New York Times [re-elected to post]
• Treasurer: Pradnya Joshi, business reporter, Newsday [new to post] Chapter Board Members:
• Alex Peng, sports editor, WAXQ-FM [new to post] AND
• Rebecca Karamehmedovic, photo editor, Parenting magazine [new to post]

We have a staggered board, so the following officers will continue in their positions in 2006:

• Vice President - Broadcast: Barbara Chen, producer, ABC News
• Secretary: Charles Choi, freelance writer

Chapter Board Members:

• Jennifer Abbasi, assistant editor, Parenting magazine
• Shannon Troetel, senior producer, CNN; AND
• Roger Chang, writer, NY1 News.
• (One additional board seat remains vacant; will be filled by appointment in January)

The board appointed two National Board Representatives to represent the NY chapter on the national level:

• Anne Marie Cruz, senior writer, People magazine [new to post]
• Cheryl Tan, reporter, The Wall Street Journal [serving another term]
