We'll play one-on-one, timed games. The dictionary will be the Official Word List published by the National Scrabble Association. New players will get a list of all acceptable two- and three-letter words and a short briefing on tournament play. Players of all skill levels are welcome, but please come familiar with the rules of the game.

Awards for top finishers will include prizes from local vendors and Scrabble games and accessories. Prizes also will be awarded for high game, highest-scoring play, best journalism word and best word of Asian origin (last two determined by group vote).

If you have a board, please bring it. If not, we'll provide them, along with score sheets, dictionaries and information on local Scrabble clubs.

Want to win against your family and friends? Cecilia will offer a 45-minute strategy seminar after the event.
