Cindy M. del Rosario Tapan
Born and raised in northern New Jersey, Cindy graduated from Penn State University with a degree in journalism in 1999. She went on to pursue a Master's degree from NYU, when she simultaneously landed a part-time internship at In Style: Special Issues. After nine months (and countless color copies), she was hired as an editorial assistant at In Style magazine. There, she researched and reported on several feature stories, assisted production on the celebrity weddings television special, and produced big budget photo shoots. Cindy was promoted to assistant editor in 2002 and became responsible for the highly competitive In Style Internship Program -- which later went on to win the Time Inc. President's Award for Diversity. She spent two years as the associate editor at Oprah Magazine, editing up to 21 pages of fashion and style coverage. Leaving her Manolos behind, Cindy helped launch Martha Stewart Living Radio in September '05 as the team's managing editor and currently as the program director, she helps make sure all the trains are running on time. Over the years, she has interviewed celebrities like Salma Hayek, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mandy Moore, and Isabella Rosselini. She has worked the red carpet -- coming this close to George Clooney -- and on separate occasions, she has met both Oprah and Martha. Currently the co-president of the New York chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association, Cindy lives in Manhattan with her husband Eddie and their six-year-old dog Fuzzy. |
