Lan N. Nguyen is a freelance lifestyle writer. She has written for The Wall Street Journal, Star magazine, Life & Style magazine and Audrey magazine. Previously, she was a features writer at the New York Daily News, covering everything from beauty to travel. Before coming to The News, she was a staff writer at Worth magazine and, prior to that, she was a reporter at People magazine. She began her professional life as an editorial assistant at Pantheon Books.

Born in Saigon, she immigrated with her family to Connecticut after the fall of South Vietnam. She graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in American history and literature. Her journalism education came from working at the Harvard Crimson, where she rose to executive editor.
