Marleen Ong
Marleen Ong. With 18 years of journalism and production experience Marleen's specialty is creating and producing new shows, newscasts and programming for broadcast and cable television and the Internet. Ong's recent experience includes working as the Supervising Producer for Yahoo! FinanceVision, the first, live financial news webcast covering the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq MarketSite. Instrumental in the launch of the award-winning webcast, Ong oversaw a staff of reporters, producers and production personnel. Prior to joining Yahoo!, she was Executive Producer of Morning News/Special Projects at WJLA-TV (ABC) in Washington, DC. She created special segments for daily and weekend newscasts and revamped the stationŐs weekday, two-hour morning newscast, Good Morning Washington. The Emmy-Award winning journalist has covered major national stories, such as: the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th, the 2002 World Economic Forum, Senator John Glenn's return to space, the Capitol Hill shootings, the NATO Summit in Washington, political conventions and the impeachment hearings of President Clinton. Ong's production career includes producing nationally syndicated programs for ABC News, Disney Wide World of Sports, NASCAR, PBS and Universal Studios. Ong earned a degree in Communications from Arizona State University. She's a long time member of AAJA and currently serving as a board member for the New York chapter. |
