Contact the AAJA Seattle 2004-2005 team:

Our membership year runs from January through December.

Become an AAJA member or renew your membership online.

Here are just a few of the many good reasons to join now:

National Convention. It's an annual opportunity to participate in exciting seminars, to attend the job fair and to meet journalists from across the country. And as a member, you'll receive substantial convention registration discounts.

Dateline AAJA and AAJA Seattle Newsletters: With your membership, we keep you informed of all the chapter events. You'll also get a subscription to our magazine, Dateline AAJA which gives you articles on important national issues facing Asian Americans and Asian-American journalists.

Mid-career Development. AAJA has established quarterly fellowships for journalists to participate in management and advanced skill workshops. Full and associate members with at least three years of professional experience are eligible.

Job Services. AAJA's 24-hour job hotline lists openings in print, radio and television. The AAJA job network gives members access to a complete listing of available positions, fellowships, internships and upcoming special events. AAJA Seattle's newsletter and web site give you the latest local job openings, too.

Networking. With monthly events and frequent special activities, AAJA Seattle gives members the opportunity to network with other journalists from around the Puget Sound area.

Mentor Program. AAJA Seattle provides the essential connection to allow established professionals to share their knowledge and experience with students and beginning journalists.

Scholarships. Your support helps AAJA Seattle and the Northwest Journalists of Color offer thousands of dollars in student scholarships every year. The national AAJA scholarship program has awarded more than $264,000 in scholarships to 256 students.

National Awards. Each year, AAJA awards excellence in print and broadcast journalism. Subject categories include works about the Asian American community as well as pieces reported on by Asian American journalists.

AAJA Seattle needs your support. For more information about Seattle's AAJA, just e-mail chapter co-presidents Sharon Chan or Margot Kim. Full and associate membership is $55. Gold Membership is $80. Student membership is $15. Membership runs from January through December 31st.
