ARTS UNIT DIRECTOR

The Arts Unit Director maintains an extensive knowledge of and contacts with North Texas artists and cultural organizations. The Arts Unit Director solicits and reviews content from arts organizations and users for broadcast, online and school/after school distribution. The Arts Unit Director oversees regular evaluation of the arts initiative, including formal quarterly assessments that will be shared with funders and supporters, and assessments by an outside evaluator. This position supports promotional and community relations activities as well as fundraising activities. A Bachelor of Arts degree or evidence of significant professional accomplishment is required. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in television or multimedia production. The ability to work with a wide-range of producers and staff on multiple formats and types of productions along with the ability to provide creative and technically accurate attention to detail and work is essential. Dallas member Arnel Trovada's marketing and communications firm, TrovadaDavis, is looking for freelance journalists who want to write restaurant reviews, cover events, and generate other content for a Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau print magazine called DallasAsian. "The publication will support the current web site, www.dallasasian.com," Arnel says. "The publication will be used to market Dallas as place to travel and play." The CVB plans to distribute the mag through area hotels and probably to area businesses. "The target audience will be Asian Americans and people interested in anything Asiana," Arnel says.
