NOT A CURRENT AAJA MEMBER? PLAN TO REGISTER FOR UNITY?

Anyone who renews or joins AAJA by Thursday, July 10, during AAJA business hours will be able to register for the 2008 Unity/Journalists of Color Convention at the member rate of $575 (professionals) or $275 (students only). Those who renew or join AAJA after Friday, July 11, must register at the non-member Unity rate of $800 (professional) or $450 (students only).

The AAJA-D.C. picnic July 22 was a great success, with plenty of food, family and friends! The fire for the grill took awhile to start, but the beautiful weather made the time at Bluemont Park very enjoyable.

Treasurer Cecilia Kang gave birth to a bouncing baby boy, Tigin Han Unsal, on March 27. He weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 23 inches long. Congratulations to Cecelia and her family!

INAUGURAL AAJA-D.C. TRIVIA BOWL AAJA-D.C. held its first Trivia Bowl fundraiser November 3. Congratulations to Team National Geographic, which took home the "Lamp of Knowledge" trophy by scoring a total of 36 points for the three rounds!
